An American Tradition In my mind's eye I can see
A lot of things as they used to be.
Like grandpa's house on a mountain
And an old fashioned soda fountain

Grandpa's house was a joy to see
But that fountain meant more to me
For there my friends and I could meet
And get good things to drink and eat

Filled with nostalgia now I dream
Of a cherry coke and ice cream
How very fast the time would pass
While drinking from a cola glass

The fountain was in a small drug store
And full of goodies and treats galore.
A lovely place for friends to meet
As young folks say "It's real neat."

But we saw the abolition
Of this American tradition.
This joy once more we can attain
For Haisten Drug brings it back again

It's located in downtown Trussville.

To enjoy an old fashioned treat
